It looks like a wild and deep Canyon which is reflected in the waters of the river Candigliano. It is in the province of Pesaro and it is formed by a huge calcareous wall which is divided into two parts. The Furlo Gorge extends for about 2 km and has a lot of Mediterranean animal species.
In the gorge center there is a very interesting place, the “Grotta del Grano”. Here a couple of royal eagles nests. The kestrel, the woodpecker and the hobby nest in hidden and inaccessible places.
The street that goes through the gorge is the “via Flamiania” which was made according to the will of Emperor Vespasiano in 77 A.D.
