Agriturismo Pieve del Colle a Urbania (PU)

The agritourism “Pieve del Colle” is an old farm-house dating from 1734 called “Cà Pieve del Colle”, restored in 2001 preserving the house’s originality (bricks, wood and stone).
The agritourism is at the centre of the Organic Farm with 22 hectares under family management. A 42km footpath, outlined by the Comunità Montana Alto e Medio Metauro, passes by the agritourism, it can be covered by mountain bike, on horse or by hiking. Pieve del Colle is within a protected Naturalistic Area called “Oasi di Montiego”.

The areas of naturalistic interest to visit in the Umbro-Marchigian Apennine are:
Furlo State Reserve, Natural Park of Sasso Simone and Simoncello, Natural Park of Catria and Nerone, the Tecchie Woods, Alpe della Luna, Mountains of the Cesane, the della Rossa and Frasassi Gorge, Monte San Bartolo Natural Park, Conero Natural Park, Monte Cucco, Monte San Vicino and the National Park of the Sibillini Mountains which is just two hours away.

The sites of historic interest to visit are: Urbania, Urbino, Montefeltro, San Leo, Gradara, San Marino, Fano, Pesaro, Corinaldo, Monastery of Fonte Avellana, Gubbio, Assisi, Arezzo and many fascinating medieval hamlets.

The agritourism “Pieve del Colle” offers a Boarding and Restaurant service:

Boarding in 5 rooms (Fleur-de-Lis, Sunset, The Oaks and Sunflower with en-suite bathrooms; The Grain with self bathroom out, all rooms have self heating) and in a small apartment for 4 people (The Little House with two double rooms, a bathroom and a kitchen, in all 50m²);
Restaurant with typical local dishes based on animals reared on the farm with organic methods: chickens, rabbit, pigeons, pigs, lambs; the other raw materials produced by the farm are: vegetables (typical dishes, products in oil, sweet-sours), fruit (marmalades and jams, deserts), grain (flour to make bread cooked in the wood-fuelled oven, traditional fresh pastas, deserts, savoury foods), grapes (wine, marmalades, jams and deserts), cereals and fodder (animals reared), wood (heating and kitchen). Besides this there’s the preparation of flavoured liquors with fruits and herbs from the woods (rue, cornels, wild plums, brier rose, violets). Jams, marmalades and sauces made of wild fruits (brier rose, cornels, wild plums, elder, robinia). Traditional dishes with wild herbs and grasses: black bryony, greybeard, asparagus, brier etc.

There are games for children.
There are services for the disabled.
Pets can be brought; there are various of them on the farm: dogs, cats, a donkey and a horse as well as the ones which are reared.
Solar panels are used to produce hot water.
A Museum of non-mobile Grain Thrashing can be visited. Once a year, generally on the second Sunday in August, the Festival of the Threshing of the Grain is evoked and Goose, the queen of that tiring and joyous day, is cooked.
Courses of wild herbs and grasses, courses of artisan crafts and various hand-made goods are carried out on appointment and with a suitable number of people.
Nearby there are various swimming pools and many places at the river which are fascinating (called Foci, I Cavalli, Grande e Piccolo Kenia, Parchiule etc.) where you can go to keep cool. The various footpaths of the CAI (Italian Alpine Club) can be carried out relying on naturalistic guides, as well as excursions on horseback. These ideas are obviously in addition to participating in the farm activities.
